I’m often asked what exactly do you mean by SkillCasting. I thought I’d put together a little presentation to outline what I consider to be SkillCasting. Before we view it, here is my definition:

“SkillCasting is a strategic approach to productizing your knowledge so you can share and sell it online”

You’ll have to share with me your thoughts on it.

I hear Kajabi is pretty expensive. I hear it does a lot though. Just be sure you need all that horsepower behind it. I heard there were bugs when it first came out but I’m sure they’ve cleaned a lot of it up.

I’ve heard good things about Optimize Press and I have it myself though I haven’t built anything with it. It’s much more affordable than Kajabi. You maybe able to accomplish the whole password protection element of a WordPress site with Wishlist member or Digital Access Pass but I don’t think these have all the page templates like Optimize Press.

For my upcoming ScreenFlow course, I’m using RapidWeaver along with Sitelok because I wanted a little more control over the pages. I realize this isn’t for everyone though.

Hope this helps. Definitely keep me posted on what you decide.

      Lisa,

I don’t remember what camera I used for this video. It was pretty long ago and looking back at the video, I really need to update it ;-)

These days, I use the following equipment:
      Camera’s: iPhone 4, Kodak Zi8, Sanyo HD 2000, Canon HF-M301
Microphones: Audio Technica ATR-3350, Techsmith Lav mic, Zoom H1, or Sony ECM-AW3
Software: Keynote for graphics and ScreenFlow for screenrecording of Keynote. Video editing is typically iMovie, believe it or not, ScreenFlow for multi-camera editing, or the new Final Cut Pro X.

I really like to mix video and Keynote graphics together and I believe video is critical. To establish trust and rapport, viewers need to see your eyes and smile. If you get close enough, viewers will feel your compassion and see your passion. These tools will help you accomplish that.

Hollar if you have more questions. I’m more than glad to help out.
